After comments on Twitter slamming the soon to be ex-wife of Deion Sanders' by his daughter caused a stir, the former football great is saying, "pray, pray, pray...for Pilar."

In a phone interview with K104 FM in Dallas, Sanders called to apologize for his daughter, Deiondra's, bad remarks concerning his ex, Pilar.

"I apologize for my daughter" he said. "She loves her father and she feels like I was being abused and misused and she lashed out."

Sanders wanted it to be known that he and Pilar's relationship as friends was still strong. "The thing about it...Pilar and I are cool, we’re cool. I mean we are cool, when I say cool, we’re cool."

TMZ had also reported the football player and his ex-wife were still living together, he confirmed this to be true. "We’re living under the same roof, that’s true ... I see her every morning. I say what’s up, what’s up girl?! It really is like that."

He concluded his interview with, "Pray pray pray pray for Pilar...pray for my babies...and we good."

Sanders' 19-year-old daughter fired off a serious of Tweets on Wednesday and first apologized to her father.

"First and foremost I would like to apologize for what is about to happen. My dad is going to be very upset at me for he always takes the higher route," Deiondra tweeted. "With that being said SORRY DADDY."

Deion’s daughter explained her reasoning for speaking negatively about Pilar on Twitter.

“Now my dad has been nothing but great to Pilar. Her, nor her mom have worked in over 11 years," she tweeted. "Normally I just sit back and watch all her lies and mess but it's to where she's getting personal. She is trying to slander my Daddy's name. #Stopit."

Deiondra then attempted to start trending topics challenging Pilar’s claim that she did not know about the divorce, her stepmother’s claim to make her family a priority when she allegedly did not allow the children with different mothers to interact, and alleging that Pilar had stepped outside of her marriage.

“She stays trying to slander my daddy’s name, the same name that made her famous," Deiondra said.

However, her brother Deion Jr. took a different approach to the situation.

“I apologize for what my sister Deiondra Sanders is saying. Me and my dad choose the high route,” Deion Jr. tweeted. “We will definitely keep Ms. Pilar in our prayers. Once again I tweet it, let go and let God!"
