Dennis Quaid Divorce Final Despite Reunion With Wife

Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly have sorted out their marital differences recently, but not before their divorce was already set in motion.

Because the actor and his wife of eight years already signed legal documents, their divorce cannot be halted and will be finalized shortly, according to TMZ.

The divorce paperwork is currently in the possession of a judge and there is no way to remove them from the court system, and so the end of the marriage will become final.

Kimberly Buffington-Quaid had asked for a divorce last March, citing that her marriage to the "Frequency" star had "become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities."

Shortly after, the former real estate agent halted the divorce filing in order to work on her marriage, but filed for a formal separation in October. Quaid filed for a divorce shortly after.

Reports at the time indicated a bitter dispute between the spouses, including allegations that Quaid had cheated on his wife.

"Kimberly is fed up with Dennis' cheating and wants out of the marriage," a source close to the couple told TMZ.

Meanwhile, it remains uncertain if Quaid will remarry the mother of his 5-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe.

Buffington-Quaid recently moved into a new $3.1 million home for herself and the two children, according to Daily Mail.

The divorce will be Quaid's third- the "Rookie" actor was formerly married to actress P.J. Soles as well as actress Meg Ryan, with whom he shares one son.

Quaid is best known for his role in films such as "The Parent Trap," "The Day After Tomorrow," and "Traffic," among many others. The 58-year-old actor was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in 1973's "The Last Detail."
