Denver Broncos Injury News: Peyton Manning Also Suffering from Rib Cage Injury

Peyton Manning is a great quarterback — no one's going to argue with that — but his recent setback with injuries is one sign that the 39-year-old is feeling the effects of being a veteran quarterback in the NFL. Before their game on Sunday against Kansas City, the Denver Broncos pulled some changed in the final injury report after finding out that Manning is also suffering from a rib cage injury.

The starting quarterback was placed on the team's injury report last week when he complained of a right shoulder problem, which was followed by another injury this week on his foot.

Both prevented him from joining the Broncos' practice last Wednesday. And if that is not enough, the five-time league MVP was once again placed on the injured list after the team revealed that he has a "rib cage injury," although he still is listed as probable to play.

Manning is already in his 18th NFL season, a feat that only a few players in the league's history can boast. But because he no longer could bare the discomfort in his rib cage and the fact that it bothered him in practice, he eventually decided to go for treatment, forcing the Broncos to place the injury on his report.

Making History

But Manning's string of injuries didn't stop him from making history Sunday, though his team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, 29-13.

In a report from USA Today, the Pro Football Hall of Fame will put Manning as the league's all-time passing yardage leader after surpassing Brett Favre. Before the game, he only needed three yards passing to overtake Favre. In the loss to the Chiefs, he achieved history in the sixth minute mark of the third quarter after throwing his fourth interception, though he was continuously booed by the crowd off the field at the Sports Authority Field.
