The Broncos came through the regular season even better than most had predicted and finished the season 13-3. They achieved their goal of winning the AFC West divisional title and gaining a first round playoff bye last week. The Ravens gained a confident win over the Indianapolis Colts last week to make it through to this afternoon's game with a 24-9 victory. That should have raised their morale after a staggered close to the regular season where they lost three of their final four games - only managing to beat out the New York Giants 33-14, while losing to the Washington Redskins (28-31), and Cincinnati 17-23. In that losing run they also were well defeated by the Denver Broncos on Dec. 16, losing 17-34.
They will need to vastly improve if they are to take down the Broncos and reverse that result today. That previous defeat to the Broncos also came at home in Baltimore - things will be even more difficult this afternoon as they go on the road to Denver
One thing is for sure, if they are to win today they will need to close down Manning. Peyton Manning has gone 400 from 583 for 4,659 yards and 37 touchdowns.
