Denver Pair Take Deceased Friend for Joyride
Two Colorado men have been arrested for driving around a dead friend's body and using his ATM card to fuel a night of drinking and partying in their hometown Denver.
The "Weekend at Bernie's" copycats, Robert Jeffrey Young, 43, and Mark Rubinson, 25, have been charged for criminal impersonation, identity theft, and abusing a corpse after taking the corpse of Jeffrey Jarrett for a joyride on Aug. 27.
The deceased, Jarrett, was found unresponsive by Young in his home earlier that night when the two friends loaded him into the car and proceeded to make stops at a local bar and strip club using the now stolen ATM card to pay the tab.

After dropping the body back off to the house, Young and Rubinson went to another bar and a strip club to continue their night of fun.
On the way home the pair stopped to inform a cop that their friend may be dead inside of his home, prompting suspicion from the cop.
Neither Young or Rubinson have been charged with the death of Jarrett although the cause has not been determined yet. However, it has also not been determined if Jarrett was actually dead or unresponsive at that point of being discovered by Young.
It has been reported by the Denver Post that Young was invited to live with Jarrett until he got on his feet after some financial troubles.
It is still unknown as to why the friends never called 911.
"This is a bizarre and unfortunate crime," said Sonny Jackson, spokesman for Denver Police Department. "This isn't anything you want to have happen to a loved one. You want them treated with respect in death."
