Destiny Game Update: PC Version Coming Soon?

Bungie, the creators behind the popular and recently-released FPS video game "Destiny," has finally addressed the recent rumblings concerning the purported release of the online shooter game on Microsoft PC platform.

"We've seen a lot of theories about Bungie on the Internet this week. I understand why that stuff is compelling. The drama of the rumor mill is a symptom of a greater issue: We all want Destiny to be better. The problem is that sifting through gossip in search of truth doesn't bring us any closer to a stronger game," Bungie's community manager David "DeeJ" Dague said.

The rumors and speculations of a PC release came out when several executives from both Bungie and Activision (the game publisher) spoke in separate interviews mentioning the game's availability for the said platform.

Larks Bakken, studio's lead designer, answered Eurogamer's question on the matter.

"I wish it was that simple. It's pretty complicated. That doesn't mean that it can't happen in the future, it just means it won't happen right now," Bakken said.

"We're doing it all internally ourselves. That's a huge endeavor," Bakken went on to explain. "So when I'm playtesting and I'm trying to play PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3, that's a lot of work. Adding another thing on there is just crazy. It's crazy to think of right now."

Senior writer Eric Osborne meanwhile conversed with Polygon revealing the possibility of a Destiny for PC, although it's still unclear when it will come out.

"The more platforms we take on, the more work it ultimately becomes, and what we don't want is to compromise the core appetite on any platforms," the Bungie official said. "We have a lot of people who play on PCs. We have a lot of appetite to build that experience. We haven't announced it yet, but we're looking forward to talking more about that kind of stuff in the future."
