Detroit Lions vs Jacksonville Jaguars takes place on Sunday in this no-conference face off, with the Lions hoping to take advantage of a lackluster Jaguars side with only one win so far this season. The Detroit Lions come into this contest with a disappointing 3-4 record, and will hope to get their record back to .500 in North Florida today. The Lions got off to a terrible start to the season but are getting themselves back on track and another win today would do a lot to boost their confidence moving into the second half of the season. They have already won two of their last three games and confidence definitely seems to be building in the Detroit camp.

The same cannot be said of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have lost 11 of their last 14 games going all the way back to last Fall. They come into this game with a 1-6 record and looking short on ideas about how to turn their season around.

Despite the Lions having a much better record than the Jaguars coming into this game both sides are in fact bottom of their respective divisions. The Lions are in the hugely competitive NFC North, which is being dominated by the 6-1 Chicago Bears, and has three of the four teams with positive win to loss ratios. The Lions would need to win today as well as string another few wins together to get back in the mix for the postseason.

The Jaguars are rock bottom of the AFC South, but a win today would put them within striking distance of the Tennessee Titans who are 3-5 at the moment.
