The Detroit Tigers and the Oakland Athletics face off on Tuesday night in the 2012 ALDS playoff Game 3. The Tigers will be looking to put the series to bed tonight, where as the Athletics will be hoping to spark an unlikely comeback. The American League Division Series matchup will start at the Oakland Coliseum at 9:07 p.m. ET. and will be televised on TBS. Alternatively the game can be watched online through live streaming (links provided below).
The Athletics come into this game 2-0 down and know that if they lose again their season will come to an end.
The Tigers have smashed 18 hits in just two games agains Oakland, and have seemed unfazed at anything thrown at them. Oakland have not been particularly poor, but the Tigers have simply turned the screw and shown their greater experience working under the postseason expectations and pressures.
Brett Anderson could be a crucial player tonight. He has made just six starts this season but will be thrown the ball in Game 3. His record over his six starts was 4-2 with a 2.57 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. He certainly has the talent, but his health has kept him from playing a bigger part in the season. The 24 year old left-hander will be looking to prove what he has got on the big stage now, and he will be looking to stop the Athletics from falling to their second-straight postseason sweep to the Tigers.
The Athletics will have to quickly find the form that saw them win six straight games at the end of the regular season to beat out the Rangers for the AL West title.
