Dexter Season 8 Episode 6: 'A Little Reflection' Recap

In the sixth episode of the final season of Showtime's hit drama "Dexter," serial killer and namesake for the show Dexter encounters friends both old and new. Read on to find out what happened on last night's episode, entitled "A Little Reflection," but be wary of spoilers.

The audience along with Dexter are introduced to a young new character who seems fairly suspicious. Zach Hamilton is a suspect in the murder of his dad, Ed Hamilton's mistress. And it isn't just his status as suspect that makes the younger Hamilton suspicious. During the episode he organized a photography lesson right near a crime scene.

Before too long, Dexter turns up evidence that Zach is in fact a serial killer.

But things get even more complicated when it is revealed that Zach is also a patient of Dexter's therapist and mother figure Dr. Vogel. Dr. Vogel knows all about Zach and his murdering habit but wants to work with him in a similar way to how she works with Dexter. She even told Dexter she wants to teach Zach the code.

Dexter does not respond well to this.

"But I'm the only one who gets to know the code!" he tells Vogel, as Dexter is clearly jealous of Vogel taking interest in another serial killer.

The ending of the show provides a bit of a twist, as Dexter's ex-girlfriend Hannah McKay shows up. It's not the most friendly reunion. Hannah poisons both Dexter and his sister Deb. As this is not the last episode of the season, it's fair to say that Dexter and Deb probably survive this poisoning, but it certainly throws a wrench into things for the two murderous siblings.
