Did Charlie Puth Place a Selena Gomez Reference in His New Music Video?

Fans may have uncovered a Selena Gomez reference in Charlie Puth's latest music video.

Charlie Puth had just recently released an all-new music video for his song "How Long?" and it has definitely made fans excited for all sorts of reason. First of all, the 25-year-old singer has shown a rather different side of him in the music video. Not only is he singing playfully throughout the video, he also showcased an impeccable dancing talent. However, what's getting the most attention in the video is a possible reference to singer Selena Gomez who Puth was romantically linked to back in 2016.

A certain part of the video has certainly raised some questions. This was about two minutes into the music video showing a painting of a girl, with features similar to Gomez (long, dark hair), who is holding a rose. Puth can be seen standing in front of the painting and mouthing the lyrics, "She said, 'Boy tell me honestly, was it real or just for show?'"

It should be remembered that back in 2016, Puth and Gomez collaborated on the song "We Don't Talk Anymore" and before that, they had been linked romantically to each other. However, things had definitely cooled off between the two, and Gomez had clarified that they are just friends. Selena Gomez is now dating The Weeknd.

In the music video, fans believe that the painting is meant to represent Gomez and that Puth is sorry for everything that has happened between them. "I'll admit, I was wrong, what else can I say, girl? Can't you blame my head and not my heart? I was drunk, I was gone, that don't make it right but, promise there were no feelings involved," Puth sang.

It is unclear, however, if the fans' assumptions are correct.
