'Doctor Strange' cast news: 'Hannibal' star joins cast
More news of the cast for Marvel's upcoming movie debut for "Doctor Strange" have been released.
It was reported by Deadline that "Hannibal" star Mads Mikkelsen will be joining Benedict Cumberbatch in the movie. It was speculated that Mikkelson will most likely play the villain for the film. However, no news of the casting for the villain has been revealed by Marvel.
Mikkelsen will be starring in the next installment of the "Star Wars" franchise titled "Star Wars: Rogue One." It was also rumored that Rachel McAdams will be playing a leading role in the film. McAdams addressed the rumors by stating the she is in fact discussing the offer with Marvel. However, she has not yet accepted the offer. She said, "I try to shut out ideas about why you should do things. If I'm picky, it's for that reason. I want to be able to bring my best to the table. So if I'm not connecting to something, then I'm not gonna hold up my end of the bargain, and that's really embarrassing."

It was reported that McAdams was offered the role of Dr. Strange's character named Clea. She is supposedly a sorceress who works closely with Dr. Strange. Her character was described as, "a woman who can compete with him on a mystical level."
However, there is still no confirmation on McAdam's involvement in the series. It is still unsure whether she accepted the offer of the role.
The cast that have been confirmed include Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Written by Jon Spaihts, the film will be directed by Scott Derrickson. Cumberbatch will take on the role of Strange, adding a mystical feel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Doctor Strange will premiere on Nov. 14.
