Does Susan Sarandon's Comment About the Pope Have Any Truth to It?

Actress Susan Sarandon has made yet another controversial statement, this time aimed at Pope Benedict XVI. She referred to the German born Pope as a Nazi. Despite her ill-mannered comment, some may wonder about the validity of her claims concerning this pope that does have ties to Hitler.

The Academy Award winning actress made her infamous statement during an interview with fellow thespian Bob Balaban on Saturday while attending the Hamptons Film Festival.

Remembering the 1995 movie for which she nabbed an Oscar, “Dead Man Walking” which gave off an anti-death penalty sentiment, she revealed that she had sent a copy of the book to the pope.
