Domino's has rewarded customers by giving away half a million handmade pan pizzas for free nationwide on Tuesday.

Known as a world leader in pizza delivery, Domino's announced their giveaway as part of introducing the new handmade pizza.

"Our goal is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience the fantastic taste of our new Handmade Pan Pizza made with fresh, never-frozen dough," said the company spokesperson Chris Brandon, according to a press release.

"We hope everyone experiences love at first bite," he added.

It is the biggest sampling program in the Domino's history, and each participating location gave away 100 slices of the new pizza between noon and 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday's giveaway occurs as people everywhere are celebrating National Pizza Month and just before the restaurant's busiest holiday- Halloween.

"As our team members across the country have been perfecting their pizza-making skills for our Handmade Pan Pizza sampling event, they've also circled this date on their calendars well in advance," said Brandon in the statement. "We stock up, staff up and make sure we're ready to deliver on Halloween."

A medium Handmade Pan Pizza with two toppings is available at Domino's for $7.99. On Halloween, the company anticipates selling nearly one million pizzas.

"Ordering dinner from Domino's Pizza gives families one less thing to worry about on Halloween," continued Brandon in a press release.

Other top-selling days for Domino's include Thanksgiving Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

The dish is advertised on Domino's website as being a pie "with two layers of cheese and toppings all the way to the edge."

On Twitter, pizza lovers are praising Domino's for the giveaway and offering opinions on their newest offering.

"Just had brilliantly made Dominos Pizza," wrote Trivan.

Alanna wrote, "Dominos on the way yay!"

Meanwhile, National Pizza Month in October has celebrated one of America's favorite meals since 1984, according to Pizza.com. Each American is estimated to consume 45 slices of pizza per year in the U.S., where there is around 63,000 pizzerias.
