Donald Trump 'Saddened' by Low Emmy Ratings, Stephen Colbert Reacts
US President Donald Trump had been a topic of most of the jokes that were shared by celebrities during the annual Emmy Awards on Sunday, but the president claimed that he was "saddened" by show's dismal ratings.

According to reports, around 11.4 million viewers tuned into the show this year. While it was a relatively low number compared to the show's past broadcast, late night show host Stephen Colbert pointed out that the president's statement about the show's ratings is wrong.
"We had the second worst ratings of all time," this year's Emmy host stated on his show as reported by Deadline. "In your face!"
Colbert could be referring to the award show's performance in 2016 when it only gathered a total of 11.3 million viewers at that time. It is considered as the lowest viewer turnout in the history of the award-giving body.
He also questioned the timing of Trump's post, since he mentioned that the show happened "last night" even if his tweet was posted two days after the event.
The TV host also predicted that Trump will react to the show's ratings during his opening spiel last Sunday.
"We all know the Emmys mean a lot to Donald Trump," Colbert said in front of his celebrity audience at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. "He was nominated multiple times for Celebrity Apprentice but he never won. Why didn't you give him an Emmy? I tell you this, if he had won an Emmy, I bet he wouldn't have run for president. So in a way, this is all your fault. I thought you people loved morally compromised antiheroes."
