However, another report from NBC News claimed that the rise in Trump's number may be brought by a specific group of supporters.

According to the report, a portion of male respondents particularly those without a college degree claimed that they either "approved" or "strongly approved" of the president's performance in the September poll. This gave the president a 49 percent approval rating, which is seven points higher compared to the 42 percent that he earned in August.

However, the poll also revealed that Trump's approval ratings from the women respondents dropped one point for the month of September.

The poll that was conducted by New York's Langer Research Associates for the ABC News and Washington Post was gathered through landline and cellular calls during the Sept. 18 to 21 period. The researchers took a random national sample of 1,002 adults using both the English and Spanish languages. According to reports, the results of the survey has a margin of sampling error of a total of 3.5 points.

The poll was released just before the president was involved in a public feud with professional basketball and football players, which resulted in a major public backlash against the president.
