Top Scorers List at Copa America 2016: It's Messi vs. Vargas as Argentina Faces Chile in "Double" Final [FULL LIST]

Chile and Argentina will be facing off in the 2016 Copa America Final, a repeat from last year's 2015 Copa America Final in which Chile outscored Argentina 4-2 in penalties to claim the championship in home ground. The game will take place at the Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday June 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Double Final - Championship and Top Scorer award

It will be a double final for both clans in that two accolades – one obviously more valuable and important than the other – namely the championship and the top scorer award will be determined.

If you win the top scorer award and are part of the champion-ship winning team, then your top scoring accolade makes it a nice "icing of the cake". Without a championship, however, a top scorer award may not have much meaning. Hence, both Eduardo Vargas and Lionel Messi who are topping the list of most goals in the cup will be all out to clinch both championship and top scorer award.

Messi vs. Vargas

Lionel Messi scored a fantastic free-kick goal against USA in a semifinal game where Argentina crushed the host team 4-0. Messi now totals 5 goals in Copa America 2016 which places him 2nd to Chilean Eduardo Vargas who currently has 6 goals under his belt.

Argentine fans will seek to witness whether Messi can top the "goleador" title of the cup and whether Argentina can end their championship drought. Last year, they faced Chile at the Copa America 2015 finals only to lose it in penalties 4 to 1. An year prior to that, they lost against the Germans 1 - 0 at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
