'Downton Abbey' Season 5 Release Date, Latest News: New Promo Video Released With Humorous Touch

ITV's highly-acclaimed costume drama television series "Downton Abbey" will be back with its all-new episodes in September for the U.K. and early next year for PBS. Fans from around the world are already hankering for some bits of information before the show starts. Here's what we rounded up.

First to mention is the newly released promo trailer, which will be provided below, that primarily showcases Maggie Smith's Lady Violet having a conversation while walking with Penelope Wilton's Isobel Crawley.

Though the first trailer was rather explosive, filled with scandals, secrets and love affairs, the second teaser somehow provides a "needed comic relief for 'Downton' fans," according to IB Times.

As their conversation progressed, the widow and former nurse told the dowager countess about her relationship with a man, which was assumed to be Lord Merton.

"I do like him. It's just he wants something from me that I cannot give," says Isobel.

Lady Violet, on the other hand, replied with a very witty tone saying, "he just wants what all men want." The other woman chuckled and told her not to be ridiculous.

"I was referring to companionship, as I hope you were," Crawley implied, making the other embarassed.

Other news from the show's Instagram feed suggests that Isobel and Violet might be having more screentime together in the 5th season.

For those in the U.K. who can't wait for the Sept. 21 premiere date to come, they are offering an exclusive red carpet charity screening with a chance to join a Q&A with series creator Julian Fellowes as well as the rest of the show's stars.

"Downton Abbey" season 5 will air in the U.S. on Jan. 4, 2015 on PBS.
