It was reported that Rose Leslie will be present in season 6 of "Downton Abbey." She will reprise her role as Gwen Dawson.

The season will see Gwen using the main entrance, instead of the servants' entrance. This alone is an indication of a major change in her life. From this, it can be speculated that she has gained power and status in society.
Leslie previously denied the rumors that she will be returning to the last season, as she told RadioTimes. She explained that while she understood that the story will still involve her character indirectly, she did not think that she would be returning. She said, "We left my character in a very happy place, married, out of domestic service and living the life she always wanted."
Gwen had left Downton during the first season of the series, when she decided to become a secretary. It was known that Sybil, played by Jessica Brown Findlay, assisted her in acquiring the job. While the character was not present in the rest of the season, she was still mentioned several times throughout the series. It was revealed that she eventually got married.
The actress has yet to return in the series since her role in the HBO series "Game of Thrones" is already dead. Leslie took on the role of Ygritte. Her character was the love interest of Jon Snow, and was best known for the line, "You know nothing, Jon Snow." It was reported that her return will be for the wedding of Mr. Carson, played by Jim Carter, and Mrs. Hughes, played by Phyllis Logan.
"Downton Abbey" is expected to air its sixth season this January 2016.
