Dragon Ball Super Episode 82 Preview: Universe 11's Toppo Fights Goku to Test if He Is a Villain

Last month, "Dragon Ball Super" entered a brand new story arc with the Universal Survival saga. In the upcoming episode, Goku will face one of the most powerful fighters in the multiverse, Toppo.

The Universal Survival saga opened with Goku pleading the Omni-Kings to stage a multiverse tournament because of his insatiable yearning to fight. Unfortunately, the bloodthirsty beings took advantage of the tournament to destroy the low-ranking universes, leaving several warriors terrified.

In next week's episode, another powerful fighter will take on Goku to confirm if rumors that he is evil are true. At this point in the series, some beings in the multiverse believe that the Saiyan is actually a villain. The preview for the episode shows Goku fighting Toppo, the team leader of Universe 11, with all his might.

In the clip, Toppo challenges Goku to a battle after the Saiyan took down Bergamo in their faceoff and beseeched the Omni-Kings to prevent the multiverse from being totally wiped out. Toppo's goal is to test if Goku is really the hero that people suppose him to be.

While Toppo looks anxious to face Goku, Goku appears to be very excited to fight in the arena with someone so powerful. The Saiyan looks forward to their fight because the result of their exhibition battle left him wanting to fight him some more.

However, his main goal in fighting Toppo is not to take him down but to prove himself to the beings of multiverse who doubt his being a Saiyan. The preview for the episode shows that he is a bit bothered by being labeled a villain.

The Universal Survival arc premiered on Feb. 5. This saga focuses on the Omni-Kings' Tournament of Power, where the elites face one another in intense team battles.

"Dragon Ball Super" airs Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST on Crunchyroll.
