'Dragon Ball Super' Episode 86: Android 17 Returns to Defend Universe 7 From Omni-Kings

Universe 7 is in danger, and it's up to Goku once again to save its inhabitants, this time from the ultimate penalty of final destruction if his team loses the Tournament of Power. Android 17 will not be content with just standing in the sidelines, and he will join his sister Android 18 to do his part in defending Universe 7 from the Omni-Kings. Android 17 makes his return appearance on episode 86 of "Dragon Ball Super" on April 16, Saturday, on Toonami at 11:30 p.m. EDT.

Android 17 has been living a relatively peaceful life as a park ranger. Series creator Akira Toriyama gave some details on what the former villain has been up to since the end of the Cell saga, and it looks like the artificial human has really enjoyed settling down. Kanzenshuu translated the interview, in which Toriyama talked about Android 17 before the events of "Dragon Ball Super" Tournament of Power arc.

"He works in the wildlife preserve area of a gigantic royal nature park, as an outstanding guard who doesn't hold back against poachers," Toriyama explained. "It's an ideal job for No. 17, who loves to be on his own and isn't big on cooperating with others; since he's so good at his job, he takes in a high salary. He's married to a zoologist; they have one child and two adopted children, and live happily in an isolated house inside the nature park," Toriyama added.

Now, Android 17 will have to file for a leave from his job and say goodbye to his wife and children for a while as the duty to save the universe calls out to Universe 7's most able fighters. Goku's team could include the reclusive Android, according to Crunchyroll.

In the previous episode, Goku meets up with the god Dende to find out the whereabouts of Android 17. He doesn't have a lot of time, as the Kaioshin of all the universes that are entering the Tournament of Power are already gathering in Universe 11.

Episode 86 of "Dragon Ball Super" airs on April 16, Saturday, on Toonami at 11:30 p.m. EDT.
