'Dragon Ball Super': Android 17 Returns to Save His Universe

Android 17 is making a comeback soon. It has been a while since fans caught a glimpse of this unrepentant villain, along with Android 18. However, they will get to see him return as "Dragon Ball Super" enters a new story arc in a few weeks.

Since Android 17 and 18 last appeared in the series, fans have never heard anything about them again. The last time they appeared, they were displaced as villains when Cell raised his freckled head. Since then, the siblings have decided to move on with their lives.

While the two androids are already married and have their own children, and despite not fighting in the arena for quite some time, their love for fighting has always lingered in them. Recent reports about the popular anime series suggest that in a few weeks, the chic android will take some time off his job as a park ranger to return to the frontlines and help the heroes save his universe.

When Android 17 returns, he will join forces with Android 18 in helping Universe 7 rise from the dust in front of the Omni-Kings, who are in charge of the Tournament of Power. The fighters from Universe 7 cannot risk losing in the said tournament, as their universe will have to be destroyed. As Android 17 learns about the possible destruction of their universe, he will decide to make a comeback and fight again.

The most recent issue of "Shonen Jump" also featured Android 17. The issue dedicated a page to tease the return of the android through an image of the character with a note from the creators of the series saying that Android 17 will return in episode 86. Therefore, fans can see him again on April 16.

Meanwhile, the synopsis for chapter 83 titled "Instruct the Seventh Universe Team! Who are the 10 Strongest Warriors?" reveals that Goku and Gohan will return to Earth to look for warriors to make up their team for the upcoming Tournament of Power.

"Dragon Ball Super" airs Saturdays at 8:15 p.m. EDT on Crunchyroll.
