Droid Razr HD Images Leaked

Photos of what could be the next-generation version of the Motorola Droid Razr were leaked by Droid-Life last week.

The images are said to be of the upcoming Motorola Droid Razr HD, the rumored follow up device to Motorola's successful Android handset.

The smartphone in the picture largely resembles the original Droid Razr, but now the back plate appears to be fully made of Kevlar without the extra rim of plastic around it.

The camera, which is believed to be 13-megapixels, is centered in the middle of the device with the flash and speaker on each side.

There also is not much of a hump left in the new device that was needed to accommodate the 3300mAh battery included in the Droid Razr Maxx.

The source who leaked the picture also told Droid-Life that the screen on the new device is "amazing" and that it also has on-screen navigation keys.

The source could not confirm what processor was including in the smartphone. However, the device is rumored to run on Qualcomm's 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chip.

Motorola has once again put the micro HDMI and USB ports on the bottom side of the device again. The company used this same design for the Droid Bionic and Droid X/X2.

The Droid Razr HD is also expected to feature a 4.6-inch HD display and Android 4.0.3, Ice Cream Sandwich.

The device was originally scheduled to be launched around the same time as the Galaxy S3, according to various sources, but has been pushed back to the late summer.

The smartphone will launch on Verizon, the home of the first two Droid Razr smartphones.

The delay on the launch of the Droid Razr HD is believed to be because of Verizon's decision to also carry the Galaxy S3.
