Duggars Announce Gender of Third Grandchild

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, stars of TLC's reality show "19 Kids & Counting," recently revealed that their expected grandchild will be a boy, the second boy to bless the family of parents Josh and Anna Duggar.

"We are so thrilled. It's a little boy, so they'll have two boys and one girl," Michelle, who has given birth to 19 children, told TODAY Moms on Monday.

"Probably the second boy of many to come," husband Jim Bob added.

At the age of 25, Josh Duggar is the oldest son of Michelle and Jim Bob, and he and his wife, Anna, already have two children: daughter Mackynzie, 3, and son Michael, 21 months.

Josh Duggar told People magazine that the couple was unaware of their baby's sex, and they planned to announce it on the upcoming episode of "19 Kids & Counting," which airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST.

"We didn't know the results," Josh told People magazine.

"But we gave them [from the doctor] to the sound guy, Jim, and he planned out this very unique reveal. It caught us off guard in a time and place we least expected," he added.

Both Anna and Josh have confirmed that they want to follow in the footsteps of Josh's parents, Michelle and Jim Bob, by forgoing the use of birth control and accepting God's plan for how many children they are to have in their lives.

"We trust in God that he will only give us what we can handle," Josh told Radar Online in a previous interview.

"I'm thankful to have as many children as God wants me to, but nothing is guaranteed," Anna added.

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have become well-known through their TLC reality show, which documents the always-eventful life of a family consisting of 19 children.

After conceiving her 20th child, Michelle suffered a miscarriage in 2011, and the Christian couple has said that they have not ruled out adoption as another opportunity to expand their family.

"We are open to the idea of adoption. We are praying about it, and we will see what God has in store. Love for children has been placed on our hearts," Michelle previously told People magazine.

The couple recently told TODAY Moms that if they were to adopt, they would look into possibly adopting from El Salvador, although the process of adoption in the country takes three to five years.

Regardless of the wait, Jim Bob told TODAY Moms that the couple believes that every child is a gift from God and is worth the struggle.

"We have set up our home to be designed for taking care of children," Jim Bob said.

"We love children, and we really believe every child is a special gift from God," the father of 19 added.

Josh and Anna's newest addition to the ever-growing family is due June 7.
