'DWTS' Elimination: Brant Daugherty Bids Farewell

"Dancing with the Stars" season 17 is dwindling down with just six contestants remaining today.

Week 8 started off with a bang with superstar Cher stepping in as a guest judge in place of Len Goodman. The singer also took the stage to perform her hit song "Believe," and each couple danced to Cher's music throughout the show.

Although teams had two rounds of dancing on Monday, one couple was eliminated at the end of the show. In a shocking reveal, "Pretty Little Liars" star Brant Daugherty and his professional dancer partner Peta Murgatroyd were sent home.

The pair danced the foxtrot to Cher's "The Shoop Shoop Song" for an impressive 27 points out of 30, but unfortunately, it was not enough to stay on the show.

"I'm not going to say I'm not sad, but I'm grateful for the opportunity," Daugherty told Us Weekly after the show.

During Round Two on Monday, Daugherty and Murgatroyd competed against Leah Remini and her partner Tony Dovolani in a dance off performing the rumba. However, Remini and Dovolani proved victorious.

"I just really learned a lot about myself," Daugherty added after his elimination. "I pushed myself farther than I thought I could. I can learn new things, I can always keep growing."

In fact, Daugherty learned more than ever about himself even outside of the challenges on "DWTS," -the actor was robbed during Week 2 of the show.

"After the show I got dropped off and was walking up to my apartment building and a man followed me up with a gun and told me to give him my stuff," the actor recounted at the time, according to ABC.

Although he joked about giving away his dancing shoes, Daugherty revealed that the mugging took a toll on him.

"It was a complete random occurrence of events and it led up to one of the worst nights of my life after having such a great night on the dance floor," he told People.com.

Meanwhile, "Glee" star Amber Riley and her partner Derek Hough took home the night's highest scores with 28 points for their rumba.

In second place was a three-way tie between Corbin Bleu, Daugherty, and Jack Osbourne, while third place was a tie between Remini and Elizabeth Berkeley.

ABC's hit reality dance competition sent Snooki home last week. Remaining contestants also include comedian Bill Engvall and his partner Emma Slater.

"DWTS" airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
