The first elimination of "Dancing with the Stars" season 17 took place on Monday night after the celebrity cast members hit the ballroom for the second time.
Last week's lowest scores went to Bill Nye "The Science Guy" and his partner Tyne Stecklein, and unfortunately, week two of "DWTS" followed suit. The dancing duo earned a mere 17 points for the second performance on the show.
Nevertheless, the educational science television series host and his partner were deemed safe and moved ahead to week three of the competition.
Marking season17's first elimination, NFL star Keyshawn Johnson and his partner Sharna Burgess were sent home after just two performances on "DWTS" so far.
The season's first elimination was the result of the contestant's debut performance scores as well as their scores from Monday's performances, in addition to the audience's votes for their favorite dances.
Meanwhile, Monday's first dance went to Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy who earned 25 out of a possible 30 points.
At the top of the leaderboard with a combined score of 51 points was "Glee" star Amber Riley and her partner Derek Hough.
Second place went to "High School Musical" alum Corbin Bleu and his partner Karina Smirnoff who earned 26 points during week two, with a combined total score of 50 points.
Singer Christina Milian and Mark Ballas tied with Elizabeth Berkley in third place with 25 points.
Tied in fourth place with 24 points apiece for week two were couples Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke and actress Leah Remini who is paired with pro dancer Tony Dovolani.
Brant Daugherty and his partner Peta Murgatroyd are also moving ahead to compete in week three with 23 points.
Comidian Bill Engvall and Emma Slater's "entertaining" routine earned them 21 points, while Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Sasha Farber followed closely behind with 20 points for their rendition of the rumba.
Then, Valerie Harper and Tristan MacManus danced the flamenco despite the actress' terminal cancer diagnosis, scoring the couple 19 out of 30 points.
The night's second-lowest score went to Keyshawn Johnson and his partner Sharna Burgess who earned 18 points for their routine. Their score was not enough to save the dancing duo this season on "DWTS."
Among the audience members during week two was Steven Tyler, Julianne Hough and Jack Osbourne's parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.
"DWTS" airs on ABC on Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST. Next will will see the eight remaining couples take to the dance floor once more to compete for themirrorball trophy.
For the first time, this season of "DWTS" only airs on Monday nights, eliminating the Results Show that usually followed on Tuesdays in past seasons. The Monday night episodes are two hours long.
