Eli Manning and his wife announced on Monday that they are expecting their second child.
The New York Giants quarterback announced that he and his wife were expecting a child at the Samsung TV 2013 launch event after being questioned about whether or not they were interested in having more children. Manning's response was that his wife was expecting her next child this summer.
"She's due in June," Manning told Us Weekly on Wednesday. "We're all very excited."
The couple, who attended college together and wed in 2008, already have a daughter named Ava Frances. Ave will turn 2 years old on March 21. Manning revealed that he and his wife would be throwing a party for their daughter over Easter break when more family would be in town.
"Well, it's her birthday tomorrow!" Manning told the magazine. "We're doing a party Easter weekend. We have all our family in town and do a little party."
More than just keeping his family together though, Manning also recently revealed that he would like to keep his team together too. Willing to go the extra mile in order for the New York Giants to re-sign leading receiver Victor Cruz, Manning said he would consider changing his own contract if it helped.
"If the Giants want to work something out," 32-year-old Manning told USA Today, "I am always up for listening, figuring out what I can do to help the cause."
Cruz recently dropped his former agent and it appears no coincidence that he signed on with Manning's agent instead. Not having Cruz back doesn't seem to be an option for Manning.
"I want Victor back with the Giants," Manning said. "It is nerve-wracking. He is anxious. He has been dealing with this contract issue for a long time, last year and into this year. I know he wants to get this settled and get back to playing football, and just worrying about that."
