Emery: The Weak's End
Emery released their debut The Weaks End under Tooth & Nail Records on January 27, 2004. Weak is not exactly what you would call this record with down-to-the-bone emo sounds.
For those who enjoy this genre, Emery may be a band to embrace like one would a long lost brother. Songs on the record dont give much of a holy feel to it. One word: disturbed. This is the kind of record you want to listen to when you are in distress or hardship and need a band to vent out your frustration for you.
The worse song from the entire album is As Your Voice Fades, beginning with the lyrics, Why did you die for me? The message of Jesus dying on the cross is present but why did it have to sound so crazy? Isnt it by faith that we are saved? There is no need to sound tortured. We are sinners, undeserving of the grace, but just have faith and accept it. The song sounds demonic and I dont like it one bit. Sounds likes someone is still having doubts of his salvation. *Shudder*
The last song is awkwardly places after the last worked-up song. At least the last one is a bit more sane. Maybe too early to write them off yet but for now, no thanks.
