With the breakup of Emily Maynard and Jef Holm comes the news that "Bachelorette" producers are already asking for Maynard to come back for an unprecedented third season. Maynard was a hit with fans, making this past season one of the highest rated.
"Even though she has been burned twice, the [producers] are hoping that she will be open to the idea because they know it will be ratings gold and they know that she really likes being on TV and actually has fun on the show," a source for the series told Radar Online.
Maynard and Holm decided to end their relationship just this week, which means it may be a bit premature for ABC to already be courting the reality star. However, Maynard told People magazine she is "a hopeless romantic" who "believes in the show. I have no regrets because I did find love and shared an incredible journey with a really special person," she added.
"I've learned so much and I'm grateful for all of the support I've received," Maynard said. "I'm excited and hopeful for the next chapter in my life with my daughter, Ricki. I do hope that you will respect our privacy and allow us the time we need to heal."
Yet if ABC has its way, Ricki and her mother will again embark on a journey to find "true love." Unfortunately, the show has a horrible record of lasting romance; not only did Maynard end her relationship, "Bachelor" Ben Flajnik and his fiancée Courtney Robertson also announced that they had called off their engagement.
"The producers want to change things up and film in Los Angeles this time, but they want to be respectful of Emily's daughter Ricki, so they'll shoot around her school schedule and vacations. ABC loves Emily. There are tons of Emily fans, and the producers think it could be an amazing twist that would really get people watching, even if it is haters tuning in to see what she will do a third time!" the source added.
This would be the third time around for Maynard, who was originally engaged to Brad Womack before appearing on her own season and choosing Holm.
