Emma Watson will be the cover girl for the May edition of GQ magazine. But despite a seemingly flashy get-up, Watson has declared that it represents an immorality that she "hates."
The former "Harry Potter" star will debut in the British edition of GQ. On the cover, Watson is wearing a black and tan cut out dress that that reveals two tattoos. The cover story has been titled: "Out of Control."
For the interview, Watson will discuss her role as "Nikki" in her latest film "The Bling Ring." The outfit that Watson is portraying on the cover is the same that Nikki wears in the film. But Nikki is someone that Watson hates.
"When I read the script and I realized that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it's become to our society, I had to do it," Watson told GQ of "The Bling Ring." "The character is everything that I felt strongly against- she's superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral."
Because the character represents negative values, Watson admitted that it was difficult to assess how she would play her.
"She's all of these things and I realized that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate?" Watson said. "But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job, or my role as an actress, could be."
When it comes to similarities, it appears that Watson had nothing in common with her character or other roles that she has played.
"This has been a really big departure for me; it's a really big character," Watson told the magazine. "That's so exciting for me because it meant I was really acting."
The May edition of GQ will be released on April 4.
