Emma Watson Graduates Brown University (PHOTOS)

Emma Watson graduated from Brown University Sunday, according to reports. The British actress and "Harry Potter" star celebrated her graduation with some pictures posted to Instagram, and her mother joined her for the occasion.

Emma Watson donned the traditional black robes of the Rhode Island Ivy League university while receiving her degree for English Literature. The 24-year-old tweeted a picture of herself with her robes and black hat as well.

Watson sat among the 2,000 other graduates, and her mother Jacqueline Luesby was also seen smiling in attendance.

Watson started at Brown in 2009, but took time off to work on the "Harry Potter" films and other movies like "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "The Bling Ring," "This is the End," and "Noah." She also spent time in her native England at Oxford University.

The actress said previously that despite her celebrity, her college experience was a lot like everyone else's.

"I've never even been asked for an autograph on campus," Watson told Us Weekly last year. "I threw a party for nearly 100 students and not a single person put a photo on Facebook."

When she first arrived on campus, though, it was a bit awkward, she admitted.

"On the first day, I walked into the canteen and everyone went completely silent and turned to look at me," she told The Sunday Times. "I had to say to myself, "It's okay, you can do this. You just have to take a deep breath and gather your courage."

Paparazzi certainly didn't help by taking pictures of her at school either.

Although Watson strived for a rather regular college experience, she did have an armed police officer acting as her security guard during her commencement, Daily Mail reported. The woman, who was seen in a pink shirt, blue denim jeans with her badge clearly visible, eventually put on black graduation robes to blend into the crowd.
