Emma Watson Rumors: Actress Not Starring in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'

Emma Watson may be taking different roles in order to shed her squeaky-clean "Harry Potter" alter ego, Hermione Granger, but don't expect to see the young actress in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"Who here actually think I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life," Watson tweeted.

"?" she tweeted when she apparently got no replies from her fans. "Good. Well that's sorted then," she concluded with a smile.

Watson has been rumored to be in talks for the lead role of Anastasia Steele but has always adamantly denied any possibility of taking on such a role.

"I haven't read the book, I haven't read a script. Nothing," she told Entertainment Weekly last year. "There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' – I never even saw a script!"

The role eventually went to Rooney Mara, and Watson went on to star in the hit film "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," which was based on the book of the same name. After starring in all eight "Harry Potter" films, Watson has shown a great maturity and chosen roles that allow her to experiment with various personality traits and characters.

"The Bling Ring" and "This Is the End" are both due out this year. "The Bling Ring" is inspired by the actual events of teenagers who manage to break into celebrity homes. The screenplay was written and directed by Sofia Coppola and is due in June.

"This Is the End" will see her take on yet a different role as she stars in a movie that deals with the apocalypse in a comicall way. The film takes place at James Franco's house and stars, among others, Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel. This film is also due out in June.
