The two kissed in a previous episode after working on a song together. At first, Skye felt as though there was something progressing in their relationship. However, upon realizing that Jamal is not attracted to her since he is gay, she did not pursue their relationship.

Moreover, the executive producer of the series, Irene Chaiken, also shared some details about the father-and-son relationship and how the dynamics will change in the upcoming episodes.

According to TV Line, Lucious' actions will surely affect Jamal's career in a negative way. Chaiken explained, "Without wanting to give away a whole lot of story, Jamal has definitively said 'I'm gay.' And I believe Jamal can say that, even if he might have had sex with a woman once or twice. Who Jamal has sex with is nobody else's business. We all know that, yet that's the fight we fight as gay people. But then there's Lucious Lyon — and Lucious will stoop low to get what he wants."

With that, fans can expect that the father and son will be faced with many challenges in the episodes to come as he tries to regain his status and his Empire back.

"Empire" is expected to return on Fox this Mar. 30.
