"Empire" Season 3 will explore more on how Diana will fight to get a higher political office for her city councilman son. She will eventually clash with Lucious (Terrance Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) as the series progresses.

Rashad had been in television for the role of Claire Huxtable in "The Cosby Show" and recently in "Do No Harm," "Psych" and "Steel Magnolias." She is also expected to join the "Empire" along with the other stars  such as Sierra McClain, French Montana, Birdman and Mariah Carey who will play a music superstar named Kitty.

A Possible Death

Meanwhile, a report mentioned of some claims that Taraji Henson has confirmed the death of one of the characters in the upcoming season. However, she did not give more information about whose death it would be.

In line with the report, there are theories arising that it is either Anika (Grace Gealey) or Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) that may die in the third season. A fierce fight can be remembered between the two characters during Season 2. One of them fell off the 30-storey balcony while the fight grew more aggressive.

The Show Faces Challenges

While Empire Season 3 is on the hype, there has been a report which revealed that the series is facing a lawsuit for copyright issues.

Sophia Eggleton claimed that the show copied her character from her memoir in 2009 titled "The Hidden Hand." Right after the claim, Fox motioned for the case to be dismissed which the judge rejected. This case is still far from being resolved, and it may have an impact on how the show may progress in the latter months.

Season 3 is slated to return with more twists to the story and more characters joining the frenzy. It is also expected that Cookie and Lyon might be getting back together.

"Empire" Season 3 will air on September 21, 2016 at 9 p.m. on FOX.
