EQUIP Trains Thousands in Indonesia
Last week, EQUIPs Tim Barker traveled to Indonesias Medan city as a representative of EQUIP to improve Indonesian life by training its leaders of faith and integrity in all walks of life.
It's a long way to Indonesia, but for EQUIPs Tim Barker, the trip was well worth it.
Last week, Barker traveled to Medan, Indonesia as a representative of EQUIP to train its leaders of faith and integrity in all walks of life.
Founded by best-selling author and leadership expert, Dr. John C. Maxwell, EQUIP mobilizes American leaders to use their personal time to train the next generation of leaders around the world. Through conferences, leadership curriculum, church partnerships, and technology, EQUIP is working to train and empower millions of Christian leaders worldwide.
Since 1996, the ministry has provided leadership training to 862,740 Christian leaders in more than 50 nations of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
EQUIP programs are designed for all Christians from the boardroom to the classroom to the church.
During his stay in Indonesia, Barker spoke to crowds of thousands, led training workshops, and met one-on-one with some of the regions most prominent leaders.
Barker thought the experience of traveling with EQUIP to be life-changing.
Having strong mentors and high-quality training has been critical to helping me to become an effective leader, he said. So now to be able to mentor others half way around the world and provide them with the same kind of training it is a privilege that I thank God for every day.
Barker plans on returning to Indonesia several times in the coming years to continue to train and encourage local leaders of faith and integrity.
Today and tomorrow, EQUIP will be in Bandung, Indonesia as part of its Million Leaders' Mandate. In September, the ministry will hit 12 cities.
