Eva Longoria Slit Dress Makes Waves at Cannes (VIDEO)

Eva Longoria made a noticeable appearance at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival this week.

The "Devious Maids" star has attended the annual film event in France for the past several years. On Monday, May 19, Longoria made her debut wearing an unusual but on-trend cut-out dress. The actress paired with a messy side swept braid with a long-sleeve beige-colored dress that featured a turtle neck, a slit across the chest, and a cinch at the waist, according to ABC News.

Ahead of the event, Longoria updated fans on her travels as well as the preparation process before hitting the red carpet in Cannes via Twitter.

"Flying over the Cote D'Azur to Monaco," she wrote on May 18.

The actress went on to share several photos from the South of France including those of the braided hairstyle she chose for the red carpet.

"Ok so now we have moved on to 4 people doing my hair! @LorealParis and this is the only time I can eat," Longoria posted along with a photo of a team of stylists working on her hair while she enjoyed a bowl of soup.

As for the stunning beige cut-out dress, Longoria revealed that the gown required last-minute steaming for wrinkles despite already being on her. Fortunately, the hard work paid off and the actress' fans have hailed the look as beautiful, including Twitter user Marcia who wrote, "Perfect dress & perfect hair = perfect woman @evalongoria."

Just one day later, Longoria wowed once more at Cannes wearing a red gown featuring matching red lace embellished with beading. The actress completed the look with upswept hair and brown smoky eye shadow. Shortly thereafter, Longoria attended an after party at Antibe's restaurant Tetou amongst other Hollywood A-listers such as Sharon Stone, Jessica Chastain, and Julianne Moore.

"Great night at Vanity Fair party with Jessica Chastain, Karl Lagerfeld and @_Juliannemoore in Cannes," Longoria posted to Twitter along with a photo.

The Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 14 to May 25 this year.
