Evelyn Lozada and Chad Ochocinco's Wedding Hits Snag Because of 'Basketball Wives?'

"Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada may be receiving backlash from the negative reputation of her reality television show after multiple hotels have denied her and NFL player fiance Chad Ochocinco space to film their upcoming wedding and reception.

The couple has been turned down by the St. Regis, The Ritz, and the Breakers, according to TMZ. The hotels reportedly wanted to avoid any fighting taking place at their respective locations, after violent behavior aired in multiple locations on "Basketball Wives" this season.

Various hotels have told TMZ that they didn't want to risk any negative publicity that may surface in the event of an altercation during the filming of the couple's upcoming spin-off show, "Ocho and Eve."

The "Basketball Wives" show began making a number of headlines recently after cast member Jennifer Williams, former wife of NBA player Eric Williams, was physically assaulted with an open palm. While Williams responded with a lawsuit, many fans of the show also took action by signing petitions to end the violence and acts of bullying taking place.

One petition called "Boycott Basketball Wives and Evelyn Lozada," has received 31,331 signatures thus far on Change.org. The appeal called for the boycott of the show along with the boycotting of Lozada's spinoff show with her mate.

"The violence on 'Basketball Wives' is horrible and disgraceful. Physical assaults, threats, verbal abuse, harassment and VH1 is rewarding this behavior by giving her a spinoff show," the petition states. "Don't reward negative behavior. Sign the petition to not watch Evelyn Lozada's spinoff."

After celebrities like Star Jones and Nicki Minaj began speaking out against the show, executive producer Shaunie O'Neal vowed that the women would present more balanced content.

"I think my voice is being resonated and Shed Media VH1 have heard me," O'Neal said at the show's reunion taping. "We're all on this page of getting some balance and getting some good and positive content."
