The hosts had a rather subpar start to their season after hosting Watford in game week one.

Miguel Layun scored an early goal for Watford and it looked like they were on course to win the game until the final 15 minutes of the game.

Ross Barkley found the back of the net in the 76th minute of the game before Arouna Kone cancelled out Watford's second goal of the game with only four minutes left in the game.

Despite the disappointing draw, the Toffees regrouped and traveled to St. Mary's Stadium to face Southampton.

Romelu Lukaku was excellent in the game as he scored a brace while Barkley found the back of the net against for a dominating 3-0 victory.

On the other hand, City has been running on all cylinders at the start of the season and is making an early claim as the best team in the league.

With much anticipation with the arrival of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool, City had a flying start to its campaign with a big 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany were impressive as they scored in the dominating victory over the Baggies.

Their next opponents were the defending champions Chelsea and City dominated the champions to show that it was indeed title favourites this year.

Sergio Aguero started things off with an early goal that sent the champions reeling at the Etihad Stadium. From there, City continued to press until it finally found its next two goals to thwart Chelsea and end with a dominating 3-0 victory.

Another fine performance against Everton may see City add a little more breathing room atop the league.
