Prior to that, Toby had warned her about the Humanics as he discovered that they were no longer taking orders from the GSC as they told him that they were listening to a higher authority whom he believed to be Calderon.

Calderon was tracked down by Molly and JD and the pair quickly realized that he was not behind the Humanics, but he knew about TAALR being the operator of the program. TAALR was not evil as it was merely looking out for humanity by killing one billion people, in order to save eight billion others.

Then Calderon tried to use his kill switch to shut TAALR down but was made to look like a terrorist instead, thus forcing him into hiding. Meanwhile, Julie and Charlie talked to the secretary about the Humanics who did not listen to a word they said. The secretary only cared about the so-called greater good that the TAALR used to convince her to tell the world about the hybrids.

Charlie and Julie had a plan to kill off all the Humanics, but this was thwarted by Lucy who took Julie and told Charlie to find her before she dies. In the meantime, Calderon gave Molly the other kill switch for the TAALR as he compromised his hiding place.

The finale of Extant will air on Sept. 9.
