People have expressed negative feelings over a Facebook photo showing a one-year old girl being bound by duct tape.

Andre Curry, a 21-year old Chicago resident, faces criminal charges after posting a photo of his duct-taped daughter on Facebook. He was charged yesterday with aggravated domestic battery by the Chicago Police Department and is expected to appear in bond court today.

The photo that landed Curry in trouble was reposted on thesmokinggun.com and other websites. It shows his one-year-old daughter with her mouth, hands and ankles bound together by blue duct tape. The photo was made public after being posted by Curry on his Facebook page.

The caption for the photo reads, "This is wut happens wen my baby hits me back. ; )." Several of Curry's Facebook friends were offended by the photo and proceeded to voice their displeasure on his wall.

"Nasty dirty child abuser," one woman posted. "To do this to your daughter, your flesh and blood, is unbelievable.

A second commenter posted, "This is what happens when children have children. I won't leave a negative comment because hate breeds more hate. This boy needs prayer, education, parenting classes, and therapy."

Another female commenter claimed she called DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) and pointed them in the direction of his profile.

Several people posted their thoughts on news websites, such as The Naperville Sun. "Normal people do not tape up their child and post it on Facebook," one user posted. "I hope it was just a joke. Sounds like a really sick individual, though. Hopefully they investigate thoroughly."

Another commenter for the news website added, "To the baby daddy: I can't wait to see your mugshot, so I can write "This is what happens when society hits you back."

Jimmie Whitelow, a spokesman for the Illinois DCFS, spoke to FoxNews.com on Tuesday. He informed them that his agency was also investigating the image. According to Whitelow, DCFS officials have had no prior contact with the family.

Mike Sullivan, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department, said the incident is "still being investigated." He also stated that Chicago police officials have been investigating this occurrence since being notified of the photo on Dec. 14.

Curry hasn't offered any public comments on the incident and his charges thus far. He has taken the Facebook page down, but police are trying to contact Facebook for a copy of the page.

This case points to another instance of the misuse of social media websites through the public postings of offensive content.
