'Fairy Tail' chapter 450 spoilers: 'Zervis' love story falls to tragedy, Rita dies

In what could be the most tragic chapter in the manga series, the love of Zeref and Mavis gets more afflicted as spoilers hint that Mavis will cause the death of someone in the story.

Previously, Zeref commented on Mavis' actions, saying the latter "does not know how precious life is." Zeref already knows that Mavis is on the same boat as he is but decides to spill the remarks.

Yuri's wife, Rita, will be giving birth, and the couple will ask Mavis to give the baby a name. Mavis names the baby "Makarov," and looking at the baby, she begins to realize that life indeed is precious.

As if the curse has not put enough suffering on Mavis, Rita dies. Mavis then realizes that though it cannot be justified, she is the reason for Rita's death. With great anguish and pain from losing someone beloved, she runs away and exiles herself as she recalls what Zeref said: "The day you become aware, those around you will disappear."

The irony is then made a lot clearer: The more Mavis (the cursed one) comes to terms with herself and the beauty of life, the more life's precious things are taken away.

A year later, Zeref and Mavis encounter each other in the woods. The black mage tells Mavis that she is an immortal, after the latter shares her sorrow, adding that she has not eaten for half a year but is still alive.

The two talk about Zeref's use of dark magic to build a nation and the Etherias. The mage also says he would like to be reunited with his brother but he also wants to finish him.

According to Yibada, the final scene shows Mavis hugging Zeref as the two become one in a kiss, and upon Zeref's confession of his love for her, the lady falls lifeless in his arms.

The unreleased chapter is titled "The Only One in all the World."
