Main cast who will appear on the film includes Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto), Dwayne Johnson (Luke Hobbs), Jordana Brewster (Mia Toretto), Lucas Black (Sean Boswell) and Michelle Rodriguez (Leticia Ortiz). It has also been reported that the late Paul Walker (Brian O'Conner) will still be in the film but will be doubled by his brothers Cody and Caleb.

Due to the Walker's untimely death, it has been revealed that the film scripts were altered to suit the changes. Information from the people in the know specified that Walker's character will be "retired instead of killed," as new scenes are re-shoot for his part of the story. This will be, as what other cast members consider, a happy send-off for their good friend and co-star.

As for the story, it has been told that "Fast and Furious 7" will take off from where the previous "FF6" left which is defeating Luke Evan's Owen Shaw. In the upcoming sequel, Owen's brother Ian Shaw, which is to be played by action star Jason Statham will be after Dominic to seek revenge on his brother's demise.
