'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 2 News, Update: Creator Robert Kirkman Teases 'Zombie Water Action'

The first season of the suspenseful and intense companion series to AMC's hit post-apocalyptic drama TV series "The Walking Dead," "Fear The Walking Dead" may have just ended and it could be a long time before it resumes on air. However, series creator Robert Kirkman dished out some details that could help preoccupy the fans while waiting for the next installment.

According to Kirkman, who recently spoke at the New York Comic-Con event, Season 2 will basically begin at the point where the pilot season left off and this could mean that viewers will get to see some action on water.

As confirmed by Kirkman, who also served as the series executive producer, the boat storyline will be explored further when the show returns to the small screens. For those who missed it, the finale episode featured Strand revealing to Nick that he intends to escape the undead epidemic in the best way he can think of and that would be through the yacht, which he christened "Abigail." But will there be some zombie crisis occurring on the water?

"There's definitely some zombie water action coming up," he said (via IGN). But as to how it will come to pass has yet to be known. However, the most important thing that the boat aspect does to the show is that it might be able to help fully depart Fear from its parent show, TWD.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kirkman said that it was always their goal to "differentiate the two shows as much as possible" and "being on the water is vastly different than being on the land."

Clearing up the doubts of those who fear that there might not be enough "zombie action" when the show gets "water-borne," the showrunner reiterated that they "shouldn't have any worries" as "there's definitely going to be a lot of intense action and a lot of awesome boat stuff" coming for Season 2.

How these things unfold will be revealed when "Fear the Walking Dead" returns 2016.
