Ferris Bueller's Honda Ad: Super Bowl Ad a Remix of 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' (VIDEO)

Ferris Bueller's Honda ad marked the return of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." It was a return in an unlikely place. though – in a Super Bowl commercial decades after the classic film made its debut.

The ad showed a grown up Matthew Broderick hitting all the classic Ferris Bueller moves – but in adult fashion.

The classis "sick" phone call went from not going to school, to calling out from another day at the office. The move comes after Ferris Bueller opens the shades and sees a gorgeous day – wondering how he can go to work (previously school) on such a day.

The ad featured ducks from cameras, parades, hints of the famous valet driving scene and more flashbacks to the original movie.

Broderick, playing the part of Ferris Bueller, used the movie tag line at the end of the commercial.

"Life moves pretty fast," Broderick said. "If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

The commercial is selling a Honda CR-V.

Throughout the commercial, Broderick reenacts classic Ferris Bueller moments. He can be seen riding on a roller coaster, dodging sightings of his boss while he is joyriding in the Honda and spending time in a museum.

Broderick spends part of the day at the beach, attending a horse race, and winds up in a parade – all while the commercial cuts repeatedly to clips of Broderick driving the car.

It's unclear if the movie references will translate into car sales for the company as they target a generation by referencing a cult classic.
