The Fifty Shades movie cast has become the subject of mass attention from fans desperate to know who will play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the bestselling novel.
E.L. James "Fifty Shades of Grey" has been confirmed as having a release date set for August 1, 2014, and that announcement has only gone to spark intensified rumors over the cast for the film.
Focus Features made the release date announcement via Twitter on June 27 in a post that read: "The global release of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' will start in North America on Friday, August 1st, 2014 with opening dates around the world to be announced. The Focus Features domestic theatrical release will be in theaters nationwide. Universal Pictures International is releasing the movie in the rest of the world."
Fifty Shades of Grey movie cast rumors have been circulating for months now, and dozens of actors and actresses have been associated with the main cast roles.
Just last week it was confirmed that Sam Taylor-Johnson would be directing the movie adaptation, which will be adapted into a screenplay by Kelly Marcel.
The two main character parts up for grabs are for powerful billionaire, 27 year old Christian Grey, and 22 year old Anastasia Steele, who he falls in love with.
Grey is described as having "unruly dark-copper-colored hair and intense, bright gray eyes."
Although many names have been connected with the Christian Grey part, the main contenders on the Internet rumors have been Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill. However, recently joining them as one of the favorites for the part was Robert Pattinson from the Twilight series of films.
The main names associated with Anastasia Steele so far have been Alexis Biedel, Emma Watson, and Mila Kunis, although all have denied being directed contacted about the role in the past.
The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is being produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti
