With time ticking and their options vanishing one by one, the parents of Terri Schindler Schiavo desperately called for “someone out there” to let their daughter live.
"When I close my eyes at night, all I can see is Terri's face in front of me, dying, starving to death," Mary Schindler said Wednesday outside the Pinellas Park hospice where Terri resides. "Please, someone out there, stop this cruelty. Stop the insanity. Please let my daughter live."
Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube was removed last Friday and her parents have since fought to reinsert the hydration and nutrition tube but with no success. Two federal courts have rejected the parent’s request, saying there are no new grounds to take review the case.

On Wednesday, the battle played out on several fronts, according to the Associated Press.
Florida senators voted on a bill that would have prohibited incapacitated patients like Schiavo from being denied food and water. After a heated debated, the measure was rejected 21-18.
Meanwhile, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and the state’s social services agency filed a petition in state court to take custody of Terri.
According to the AP, the request cites new allegations of neglect and challenges the diagnosis that Schiavo is in a persistent vegetative state.
Gov Bush stepped in before when Schiavo’s feeding tube was removed in 2003. However, his law, which he pushed through after Terri’s tube was removed for six days, was struck down as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
Last Friday’s tube removal was the third such occasion in Terri’s seven-year battle.
