'Final Fantasy 15' Latest Update: PlayStation 4 Pro Update Now Available

PlayStation 4 Pro owners will now get to enjoy an improved frame rate when playing "Final Fantasy 15."

As reported by Eurogamer, "Final Fantasy 15" has recently received a sizeable update which introduces an increased frame rate mode of 60 frames per second (fps) to the video game. Prior to the update, "Final Fantasy 15" has two PS4 Pro options, Lite and High, capping the video game at 30 fps.

Update 1.05 also adds several new in-game features for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers. One of the most interesting additions to the game are Timed Quests, which can be accessed via the in-game menu screen.

For those who are still exploring the game's main story, dungeons and side quests, the level cap has been raised from level 99 to level 120. In addition, gamers will get to take more photos using Prompto's camera within the video game since it can now store a total of 200 pictures. Players can now also listen to the video game's many soundtracks while riding Chocobos.

Although Square Enix has released the PS4 Pro patch update to improve the visuals of "Final Fantasy 15," the update has received criticism for performing poorer than expected, according to GameRant.

The patch reportedly does not help the game achieve a 60 fps frame rate on a consistent basis. The patch also drew flak for removing the 30 fps cap from the game's Lite mode, which resulted in a "highly variable level of performance."

Aside from the patch, Square Enix also launched the game's Booster Pack+ DLC on Feb. 21. The downloadable content pack adds three new combat items such Ragnarok, a powerful one-handed sword; Dragon Drain, a fishing rod that makes it easier to catch fish; and Avoir, a reel that pulls fish in with more strength.

A free content update, called Booster Pack, is also scheduled to be released at a later date. After that, a full-fledged expansion centered around party member Gladiolus is due for release on March 28.

"Final Fantasy 15" is now available for the PS4 Pro, PS4 and Xbox One.
