'Final Fantasy 15' News: Update Offers Fixes, Additional Content

The latest update for "Final Fantasy XV" is finally here. The update went live on Xbox One and PS4 a few days ago and brought small fixes and new content to the existing game.

As Square Enix continues to show its commitment in patching and improving "Final Fantasy XV's" story, it has released an update that added new major story sequences and filled in existing gaps in the tales of some of the game's most important characters. The update particularly fixed the stories of Luna and Gentiana, as well as those of some of the gods, who were among the most memorable beings in the "Final Fantasy" universe. Some gamers noticed that while these characters appeared in the initial release, they still did not have their own backstories.

Square Enix confirmed the arrival of the update via the official Twitter page of "Final Fantasy XV," which featured all-new footage and showed the full animation of the new game. The clip also highlighted some of the gods whose backstories will be better explored with the new update, as well as offered fans a peek at the fate of some characters.

One of the most important story points introduced by the new update is that of the Astral War. While why and how the historical events happened in the game are still unknown, the new update offers plenty of direct references to this war, including a side quest called "Aftermath of the Astral War." In this side quest, players and their friends go on a trip to capture photos of the Taelpar Crag.

Chapter 12 of the main campaign touches on the Astral War, so fans who have already completed the story may revisit the chapter to access the additional content.

"Final Fantasy XV" is now available on the PS4 and Xbox One, but it will not come to PC until early next year.
