Final Fantasy X HD SD Comparison Video Released, Enhancements Displayed

A video released this week comparing the original and HD versions of the Final Fantasy X gives fans of the series a good idea of just how much better the re-mastered one will look.

The clip shows various scenes and characters in the game including the main protagonist Tidus, Yuna and the great Blitz Ball mini game. Battle scenes appear sharper and the HD mastering clears up a lot of blurriness found in the original PS2 version.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 was released in Japan for the PS3 and PS Vita on Dec. 26, 2013. The new game is expected to hit North America and Europe on March 21, 2014.

The HD remake of Final Fantasy X was first announced towards the end of 2011. The company made sure fans knew that the game would be re-mastered and not remade at this time.

Square Enix commented on the Final Fantasy X re-mastering, stating that it will come out with better visuals combined with "familiar gameplay."

Based on this recent video, Square-Enix did a great job cleaning up the visuals in this game. However, some fans probably wanted a complete re-make of the game filled with new visuals and features not found in the original.

Final Fantasy X was the first title in the series to be released on the PlayStation 2 console.

It changed the series in many ways by including voice acting and eliminating the trademark interactive world map that was present in most Final Fantasy titles before it. It also marked a significant graphic update in the series.

It was also the first Final Fantasy to have a direct sequel with Final Fantasy X-2 that was released in 2003.
