'Final Fantasy XV' rumors: More details on the game, plus a screenshot
Fans can expect a more intricate storyline
The next chapter of the long-running role-playing game series "Final Fantasy" is confirmed to be released in 2016. While fans wait to get their hands on "Final Fantasy XV," more details about its story continue to be revealed. Much like the previous versions, it promises an action-packed gaming experience that loyal fans have always loved. But director Hajime Tabata believes that what sets XV apart is the way the story is told.
In an interview with Metro.co.uk, Tabata puts premium in the use of technology in storytelling. For him, having access to the best technology in game development should produce a more engaging story, and in effect, giving a memorable gaming experience to the players. Tabata also aims to attract new players in the Final Fantasy world. Although the series has had a loyal following over the years, he says he made it an effort to weave a story that even non-Final Fantasy players can relate to. He elaborates, "There's not as many barriers there, so it can really appeal to a wide audience… the whole design process of the game we really are aware of that idea."
In the recent Gamescon 2015 event, previews of the game were shown where fans can get a glimpse of what to expect. One particular screenshot caught the attention of avid gamers, which depicts a terrifying battle with a Marlboro.

The event also presented the main storyline of the game. The story centers on a father and son relationship, as well as among friends. According to Gamespot, the synopsis looks different from the original concept of "Final Fantasy Versus XIII." Director Tabata says that although XIII is much more dramatic in comparison with XV, the new game promises to depict tragic and epic events that the series is known for. Specific details such as the villians, though, were not revealed. This may give fans something more to look forward to while waiting for the release of Final Fantasy XV.
