Final Fantasy XV News, Update: Square Enix's Newest Trailer Shows 'Gorgeous and Massive' Open World

Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV has been on and off gamers' radar many times now. The studio recently showed some parts of the much-anticipated JPRG with the game's cityscape. Then they added some videos featuring the combat mechanics.

In the late part of October, the Final Fantasy fans were once again treated with some new gameplay footage direct from the Paris Games Festival.

As reported by Game Spot, SE uploaded an hour-long commentary video that was shown in the Paris Games Festival. It was titled "Tabata Director's Active Time Report."

Following the lengthy talks and commentaries, the gameplay then gave glimpses of the four lead characters driving around in their sleek, black sedan. After passing some landmarks and a gas station, the gang went out from their car and started jogging towards the grasslands.

There, the fans can see a number of gigantic creatures grazing around. Some are peacefully doing their thing, while others are starting to run towards them.

They went further and further into the forest, passing along woodlands, climbing on the hills, seeing settlements, etc.

The footage also showcased the game's emphasis on the day/night cycle which "accurately" affects the lighting and ambience of the landscape.

"It's clear that Final Fantasy XV is on an entirely different scale than the rest of the series. Many complained that the Final Fantasy XIII series was too constrictive and linear, but Final Fantasy XV is anything but," Tech Times stated in their report.

The website further stated that the recently-released video is a section for the upcoming Final Fantasy XV playable demo, which is slated to arrive next year.
